Winter is the season of snow and ice!
Magical climbs and descents in a glittering winter wonderland... a chance to enjoy open skies over snow capped peaks.
Snow crunching under your feet on the way to an imposing cascades of featured ice...
Carving effortless turns through the cold powder snow... the flow and focus of the steeps... playing in the trees... exploring quiet summits and finding beautiful descents in unknown valleys.
Whatever aspect of winter holds you in its spell we'd be delighted to help you make the most of your time in the mountains this winter.
Roeland has been teaching alpine skiing for over 10 years. Combined with his work as a Mountain Guide this gives him depth of experience from which he can coach your off-piste skiing to even higher performance. This will help you enjoy those amazing descents even more! Good explanations and small tips can make an important addition to any off-piste ski week or ski tour.
Tania has also skied for many years, on telemarks, alpine and cross country skis. She is a BASI ISIA Nordic Ski Teacher recognised to work professionally in France and the wider European Alps. She can advise you on ski technique and training as well as knowing where to find great snow for those amazing off-piste descents!
We also guide on ice, both valley cascades and alpine couloiurs and faces. Chamonix and Cogne (Italy) are two very good venues for beginners but they also have a wealth of stunning and serious icefalls which would be a suitable challenge for experienced ice climbers.
Of course Chamonix is justifiably famous for its alpine ice couloirs. Narrow gullies choked with aerated ice pinned between imposing rock walls... there's so much to choose from!
